As I read about these horrible things that happen in the US and all over the world I see that people start to react and become angry, send prayers, and take action. Everyone has their own opinion on the subject. So what are we, Christians, supposed to think? What are we supposed to do? We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to be the light in this dark world. How do we do just that? There are lots of organizations and causes we can be involved in, but which ones are right? Which ones are good? How do we fit those things into our already busy schedules? Are we called to just drop everything and go? Yes and no, maybe. My understanding is yes, if you are called to something like mission work, or something in the serving capacity and you know in your heart it is Gods desire for you to go, then you go. But what if you are getting little tugs on your heart here and there but then logic sets in? You have student loans, you have to work, youre trying to take care of your body (and in my case I have a passion for endurance sports and cannot imagine my life without it). I think that is what scares me the most. That God might want me to give up the very thing I love most to do, to go somewhere else. I dont know what He wants. I spend a lot of time thinking and racking my brain, getting overwhelmed, stressed, anxious and everything else you can think of. People tell me that its okay to not always be serving, to think of yourself sometimes. Heck, I tell people that too. But when it is just being lazy and selfish? Where is that line and how do you define it? I know you cannot be everywhere all the time. We are only human and only one person. I also know that prayer works and the word works. I know especially how hard it is to hear Gods voice through all the life stuff. All the responsibilities, all the people telling you what to do and what to think, even people who follow Christ and are wise! I dont have the answers to any of these questions, but I do know if God wants you somewhere and you open your heart in prayer asking him to help, he will pull hard enough one day to pull you over to that thing. Maybe you have advice or tips or experiences of this that you want to share. I would love to hear them. Post anything and everything.

God Bless.
