Easter Joy

Easter is a time for us Christian's of rejoicing, hope and Thanksgiving for the miraculous gift that Jesus gave to us through His death and resurrection. For others that dont know Jesus as their saviour, it's more about family and the beginnings of spring. It can also be about those things for Christian's but the main purpose is to remember the gift of Jesus. He was our main sacrifice so that we no longer have to sacrifice animals and give offerings for our sins. The Lord does ask us to give ourselves for His cause though. Sometimes during and right after Easter we can become on a bit of a spiritual high. We then let it go and continue on our way of life. Think about the sacrifice real quick of Jesus. He was not a flawed man, in fact He was the ONLY perfect man to ever live, yet he was betrayed and beaten, berated and put on a cross to die. Look up the act of being hung on a cross, it's one of the most barbaric ways to be killed. His blood spilled on the "altar" like the old testament sacrifices. Not only did He go through all of that plus death, 3 days later, he came back to life!!! Like what?! That's so crazy to me, but the reason He did that was to prove the death had no power over God. He also did that so we dont have to die forever. Sure, our bodies die, but our spirit will be able to live on forever with God if we so choose. Jesus's death and the fact that He rose again makes that possible. What does that say about us then? Well, it means that we are valuable to God. We mean something more than ourselves. We dont know what the value truly is while we are here on earth but we get little glimpses when we follow Him. That means that the way we treat ourselves is important! It's so common now to hate the way we look, the way we are etc. There is a lot of body shaming and not only body shaming but shaming those that are confident and trying to combat body shaming! It's a crazy time. I dont know why it's like this or if it's always been like this but it's no good. We shouldn't hate ourselves. We should love ourselves enough to take care of it! For goodness sake, someone died for you to be here! We can't ever repay what Jesus did, but we dont have to. We can honor it, even just a little bit, by loving ourselves as people and our bodies the way they are and loving it enough to make changes if necessary. Health is important but everyone is different. We aren't all going to have the same look, but we can all be healthy. Dont forget how much you are loved. Loving yourself takes time. Get to know you, and see how great you really are. Remember, someone died so you could be here, you are worth THAT much! Every time.

Love you guys,

Christine
