Life and Faith and What to do with it all?!

Lately, I have been humbled beyond belief by the people that I meet and the stories they tell. So often we go through life and become totally consumed with our problems and issues. We assume that everyone is going through like alright or better than we are. The truth is, everyone is fighting a battle. Everyone is going through something, big or small. In the past week (that started Friday), I have heard two of my coworkers talk about or tell me just a little bit of their story. These issues completely blind sided me. I have started to thing about things a little differently, trying to find ways to help them through. It also made me reevaluate everything I have been complaining about. I am not saying that just because someone is going through something worse than you are that you should diminish your struggles, but just to put into perspective your struggles and realize you are not alone. Everyone's struggle is different, some can be very similar but each is unique. So then I started thinking, how do these people cope with life's different battles? I know how I cope, with the help of Jesus, but how do those who do not know Jesus cope? What makes it worth it to push through, what hope do they lean on in times of trouble? I've never asked because, frankly, I am scared. I am scared of the answer and also scared to share where I get my hope from. I'm scared because people look down on Christians and Jesus; they always have and always will. One of my biggest struggles is talking about the good news and hope of Jesus.

So what do we do with life and faith? To me, there is no life without faith, hope and love. Without our Lord, we wouldn't be here. Many have told me before, "well if God is real, why do all of these bad things happen in our world?" That is your answer right there! Our world is corrupt. We made it that way. Humans were given a choice from the very beginning to either follow God or ignore Him. Many have chosen to ignore him and the consequences are the bad things in the world! God gave us a choice because He is a loving father. If you are a father or a mother or have a good one or just have a relationship with whom you love, you know you would never want to force their love, you want them to love you because they want to. God is the same way. He loves you no matter who you are, what you have done, where you have been; but He will never force you to obey and to love Him, because then it wouldnt be genuine. The world works very hard to turn us away from Him. It says we dont need anyone, that we can do this life on our own. It says that things and money can make us happy, it says that our bodies should be perfect, it says that feeling good and "happy" should be our number one priority. God PROMISES everlasting joy, even in hard times; everlasting life with no more pain, no more tears, no more hurt; that we are perfect as we already are; a life of meaning and purpose to help those in need; to rescue you and everyone else from despair; to give you rest; to uphold you; to take care of life's messes for you; to provide for you; to heal you forever and ever and ever. Does that sound good to you? Me too. I want that kind of love and promise. I want that kind of a life. When I am going through the unimaginable, I base all my hope and perseverance on those promises; when I need motivation for anything in my life those are the promises that get me through whatever it might be; with every decision I make, I come back to these promises.

So, what do we do with life and faith? Put them together, and lean on these promises of God. Give in to His protection and love, because at the end of life, nothing else matters.
